Barry Cohen is a well-known figure within the golf sporting circles. Since his return to Cape Town in the mid 1990’s, Cohen has done much to contribute to the sport. In 2006, Cohen headed up the SA Golf Heritage Trust which aimed to build a golf museum and honour those who have made a contribution to the game. Despite the trust running out of funds in 2008, Cohen ensured the golf museum opened its doors in 2010.
