Phyllis Horn Epstein is a partner with the Philadelphia firm of Epstein, Shapiro& Epstein, P.C. with over thirty years experience in taxation, corporate transactions, and trusts and estates. Ms. Epstein represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service, Pennsylvania Department of Revenue, in the United States Tax Court and the Orphans' Courts of Pennsylvania. Her practice covers tax planning, tax litigation, negotiations with IRS, business transactions and Estate planning and administration. Ms. Epstein was elected a Fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel and received Martindale-Hubbel's(R) AV(R) Preeminent peer review rating. She is the recent recipient of the PBA Presidential Service Award for her three years of service as Treasurer of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and is the incoming Chair of Committee on Individual and Family Taxation for the American Bar Association, Tax Section. Ms. Epstein is a member of the Pennsylvania-Practitioner Liaison Committee to the IRS. She has been a frequent speaker on tax related matters and has authored numerous articles for tax-related periodicals and is the co-author of the Tax Litigation chapters of the CCH Federal Tax Service. She recently co-authored with Earl Epstein chapters on the Personal Tax Liabilities of Corporate Officers and Directors. Ms. Epstein is married to her law partner, and they have one son.
