A guide for media professionals to developing cross-platform new media content, showcasing the ideas, the processes, the mistakes and triumphs of the new media landscape. Written by a leading consultant and packed with case studies.
The last decade in the media has seen a proliferation of new media platforms: games, the web, mobiles and social networks - each demanding more and more high quality content to feed its audiences. Established media platforms - television and film - can't now pass a new content proposal without a cross platform media plan. So if you're a TV Producer or Filmmaker, what do you need to do to start thinking digitally and develop a cross platform content idea?
This book will be your guide to the ideas, the processes, the audiences and the buyers, the mistakes and the triumphs of the new media landscape. It will tell the stories of some of the pioneers with examples and case studies from the world of broadcasting, the web, games and mobile, and across genres of entertainment, drama, documentary and education. It will hold your hand through the forest of digital jargon and give you insight into thinking like a tech geek, so you can start to create, sell and profit from true, multi-platform content.
A must-have book for the creative media industry.
