The second book from the creators of the smash-hit number 1 podcast takes us on a dizzying A–Z through the past
They came. They saw. They told historically accurate dad jokes.

From the podcast legends who brought you The Rest is History comes The Rest is History 2. Tom Holland and Dominic Sandbrook take you on another rollicking rollercoaster ride through history's most interesting moments. Charge forth with the battalions of the American Revolution, sleuth through JFK conspiracy theories, and hunt for the (real) Ark of the Covenant charting the adventures of the (fake) Indiana Jones.

Along the way you'll find the answers to questions like:
- Who was Jesus's wife?
- What would it have been like to live-tweet through the eruption of Vesuvius?
- Where are the origins of the real Arabian Nights?
- What are history's top 10 monkeys?
- Which Mitford sister tried to seduce her schoolgirl crush, Adolf Hitler?

So dust off your tricorne hat, grab your lasso and get ready for an even greater adventure into the past!

Tom Holland is the author of a range of books on ancient and early medieval history. He has translated Herodotus and Suetonius, presented TV documentaries on subjects ranging from dinosaurs to the Islamic State, and been described by The Times as ‘a leading English cricketer’. Dominic Sandbrook was educated at Oxford, St Andrews and Cambridge, and was an academic at Sheffield before becoming a writer. He is best known for his histories of Britain since the 1950s, most recently Who Dares Wins, as well as a series of history books for younger readers, Adventures in Time. He has presented many documentaries on BBC Two and Radio 4, and is a columnist for The Times and book critic for the Sunday Times.
