The material in this volume has been organized into modules. Each module contains source materials, student assignments and notes offering guidance for teachers. The modules have been prepared as copy masters and may be freely copied for use within a single school or college. The two volumes of materials on GCSE Travel and Tourism have been designed to cover all eight modules in the syllabus. Each module is self-contained and may be used for the GCSE Travel and Tourism course, as part of a broader modular scheme or as part of a CPVE course. The teacher's notes contain suggestions about resources which will be needed and, where appropriate, ideas about the organization of some of the assignments proposed. Each module also contains a range of student-centred activities leading up to a choice of assignments, aimed at eliciting a successful response from a broad ability range. The materials in this volume contain both written assignments and oral tasks for assessment.
Teacher's notes explain what the Southern Examining Group syllabus requires in terms of assessment and also provides a scheme of assessment which ensures that all aspects of knowledge, understanding and skills which constitute the course are assessed.
