Osama Wadie Ata received his BSc (Hons) in electronic engineering from Hull University (UK), and an MSc in electronic communications and a PhD in microwave antenna systems from Cardiff University (UK). He was granted a postdoctoral fellowship at Bangor University (UK), a Fulbright Senior Fellowship at Stanford University (USA), and Senior Visiting Fellowships at Villanova University (USA) and Victoria University of Technology (Australia). Dr Ata qualified for a unique and prestigious extraordinary ability O1 visa in the USA (2000-2005), for his expertise in Antenna research, and worked at the research facility of Sprint Telecommunications Corporate. He is a professor at Palestine Polytechnic University in Hebron, where he teaches courses in antennas and propagation, microwave communications, electromagnetics, transmission line theory, optical communications, radar systems, applied engineering mathematics and research methodology. His research interests are microwave horn antennas, microstrip antennas, radio frequency propagation, in-building penetration loss modeling and measurement, electromagnetic radiation, RF cellular planning and mobile radio networks. He recently won the Abundance in Quality Scientific Research Production award and the best paper award at the 2019 Jordan International Joint Conference Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (IEEE JEEIT).
