David W. Jackson III, PhD, is a consultant and independent Black scholar who teaches courses in Africana Studies. He is the producer of an oral video history project, African American Voices of the Cedar Valley. This project consists of four volumes of extensive interviews with notable Africans in the Waterloo-Cedar Falls area. In addition, he has produced a two-volume oral video history project, African American Voices of Denver, which captures the life experiences of notable and ordinary Africans living in Denver, Colorado, and the surrounding areas. He is also co-author of the book The Maid Narratives: Black Domestics and White Families in the Jim Crow South (2012), and he has published articles in the likes of the Journal of Black Psychology and the Journal of Western Black Studies.
