The Deployment Toolkit
Rowman & Littlefield (Verlag)
978-1-4422-5428-2 (ISBN)
At times the added stresses of military life often make things seem overwhelming. Luckily, the military is a huge family with scores of support groups, both official and unofficial, to help families prepare for separation and the stresses associated with the long absences. Janelle Moore and Don Philpott provide an easily accessible self-help guide to dealing with and understanding deployment. The authors identify the different types of separations and deployments, emotional adjustments involved, and resources available to families in the military.
The Deployment Toolkit is essential reading for those families who need a guide through the modern day reality of military deployment and separation.
Janelle B. Moore has spent the last 14 years as part of a “think tank” consulting practice that provides executive-level advisory, planning, coaching, and training services for both civilian and defense agencies within the federal government and private firms. She is a former military spouse, parent of a military dependent with special needs, and an advocate for military families, children with disabilities and veterans. She is the co-author of several books with Don Philpott, including The Capital Planning & Investment Control Guidebook. As well as co-author of The Military Marriage Manual (R&L, 2011), Life After the Military (R&L, 2011), The Wounded Warrior Handbook (Government Institutes, 2008), and Special Needs Families in the Military (GI, 2011). Don Philpott has been writing, reporting, and broadcasting on international events, trouble spots, and major news stories for almost 50 years. He is the author or co-author of more than 200 books, including The Wounded Warrior Handbook (GI, 2008).
