Stephanie A. Hallock is an associate professor of political science at Harford Community College in Bel Air, Maryland, where she chairs the college’s International Education Initiative. Her primary work has been in the area of global curriculum development and study abroad, consulting and presenting in Bulgaria and the United States. These experiences led to her current exploration of various pedagogical approaches to promote student engagement, both in the classroom and larger communities in which they live. In 2009, she received a NISOD Excellence Award for teaching and leadership. She received her B.A. from Roanoke College, an M.A. from Virginia Tech and a Ph.D. from the University of Miami (FL). She began her teaching career at Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida.
