Every teacher knows them: bright students who face learning difficulties that interfere with their ability to shine at school. 101 School Success Tools for Smart Kids With Learning Difficulties is a comprehensive resource that will help educators recognize and nurture the potential in these students, providing strategies to empower smart kids with learning challenges to become successful, confident, and independent learners.

In this book, teachers will find essential information to help them gain a better understanding of these kids and how best to address their needs. In addition, student scenarios bring these ideas to life, and practical tools support teachers' planning and implementation of best practices within the classroom. Written for educators, but also useful as a guide for parents, the book provides ways of revealing and developing a child's strengths. By combining their knowledge and expertise with the tools in this book, teachers can create a dynamic learning environment in which their students will thrive!

Marisa Stemple has spent her entire career in education with Montgomery County Public Schools, working with and on behalf of bright students with learning difficulties. She is responsible for coordinating MCPS' nationally recognized gifted and talented/learning disabled programs. Linda Barnes-Robinson has worked with children and parents for more than 25 years, and has devoted her professional life to advocating for children and families. With Montgomery County Public Schools, she coordinated the identification of gifted and talented students, advocated for parents and students, and worked to establish one of the first comprehensive programs for gifted/learning-disabled students in the nation. Linda is a nationally recognized trainer and educational consultant in gifted identification, gifted/learning-disabled programs, and conflict resolution and mediation. She has coauthored and edited numerous articles, manuals, books, and curricula documents. Her most recent publications include two articles for the journal Teaching Exceptional Children. She received her bachelor's degree from Cedar Crest College, her master's degree from The George Washington University, and a postgraduate certificate in family mediation from The Catholic University of America.
