The Editors: Barbara A. Biesecker is Professor and Head of the Department of Speech Communication at the University of Georgia. She is the author of Addressing Postmodernity: Kenneth Burke, Rhetoric, and a Theory of Social Change (1997) and 2007 recipient of the Douglas Ehninger Distinguished Rhetorical Scholar Award. John Louis Lucaites is Professor of Rhetoric and Public Culture in the Department of Communication and Culture at Indiana University. He is the co-author (with Celeste Michelle Condit) of Crafting Equality: America’s Anglo-African Word (1993) and (with Robert Hariman) of No Caption Needed: Iconic Photographs, Public Culture, and Liberal Democracy (2007), as well as several edited collections. He is the current editor of the Quarterly Journal of Speech.
