David Baboulene runs away to sea in a cloud of romantic dust for the first of his globetrotting adventures. His journey takes him across the world and back to a triumphant homecoming in Liverpool. But despite the laughs, the real journey in this strangely moving tale takes him all the way… from a boy to a man.
David Baboulene runs away to sea in a cloud of romantic dust for the first of his globetrotting adventures. His journey takes him across the world and back, from New Orleans and Houston in America to the Caribbean islands of Barbados and Jamaica, through the Panama Canal to Sydney and Melbourne in Australia, then back across the Pacific – through the Gilbert and Solomon islands, Samoa, Tonga, Fiji and the Azores – to a triumphant homecoming in Liverpool. But despite the laughs, the real journey in this strangely moving tale takes him all the way… from a boy to a man.

As well as completing his Deck Officer Cadetship in the British Merchant Navy, David Baboulene has been a welder, as radio DJ, a cabbie, an award-winning scriptwriter and a published songwriter; he also made a million in the IT boom in the nineties and lost it all again, goddammit. He performs a one-man show telling stories from his books.
