Sloane Tanen's chickens are back, but this time they've only got one thing on their minds - babies: carrying babies around for nine months (aka the relief of maternity wear), naming them (their university prospects depend on it), nourishing them (breast-feeding is so in right now), and even comparing them.
Sloane Tanen's chickens are back, but this time they've only got one thing on their minds - babies: carrying babies around for nine months (aka the relief of maternity wear), naming them (their university prospects depend on it), nourishing them (breast-feeding is so in right now), even comparing them (they must be in the 96th percentile of something). From epidurals and stretch marks to nappy rash and day care, "Hatched!" is guaranteed to keep you laughing all the way through your pregnancy and first year of motherhood.

Sloane Tanen is the author of the bestselling Bitter with Baggage Seeks Same: The Life and Times of Some Chickens, Going for the Bronze: Still Bitter, More Baggage and the children's books Where Is Coco Going? and Coco All Year Round. Her paintings can be found in private and corporate collections in Manhattan, Boston, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. She received her BA from Sarah Lawrence College and holds graduate degrees in literary theory from NYU and in art history from Columbia University. She lives with her husband in New York City.
