In her teens, Joni began sewing clothing so she could have a bigger wardrobe. She never dreamed that sewing would lead her to a successful business or that one day she would be a guest on HGTV's Simply Quilts. Joni is a certified public accountant with a business background. She started her quilt pattern company, Sew Special Designs, in 2001 with just one quilt pattern, which originated from her first quilt. She has been invited to speak at various quilt guilds and stays quite busy with her full-time job, managing the database accounting systems for a large company in Aurora, Colorado. Joni lives happily with her husband, Bob, and frequently travels to their mountain cabin for creative inspiration.
