Sport science is evolving from the interaction among various disciplines and sciences, all of which are converging on the dimensions of movement, play and sport, and especially on the high-quality performance of athletes. This anthology presents two articles for each of ten subdisciplines in sport science: exercise physiology, sport medicine, sport biomechanics, movement theory, training theory, sport psychology, sport pedagogy, sport sociology, sport history and sport philosophy. Each chapter offers a reference list for further studies, and an extensive appendix provides information on German sport science publications as well as on sport institutions and organizations.

Herbert Haag, geboren 11. Februar 1915 in Singen am Hohentwie, gestorben 23. August 2001 in Luzern, war ein römisch-katholischer Schweizer Theologe und Bibelwissenschaftler deutscher Herkunft.
