A cookbook with easy, crowd-pleasing recipes and menus for every gathering, from dinner parties to summer barbecues, Sunday brunches to birthday picnics
Food brings people together - through cooking and sharing meals, we bond with our families, friends, and communities. After years of social distance, people are yearning to reconnect with their social circles, to come together and enjoy each other's company around a well-laid table filled with delicious food.
In his new cookbook, Danish chef Mikkel Karstad presents 70 recipes that celebrate the joy of cooking for friends and family. Nothing too fussy or complicated - just simple, tasty, beautifully arranged platters of food that can feed a crowd. From simple snacks, salads and buffet-friendly
sides to dinner-worthy dishes, drinks, and sweet desserts.
The book presents six menus for different occasions, from a laid-back summer barbecue to a formal Christmas dinner, from a relaxed family lunch to a children's birthday party. Each setting is captured in beautiful photographs of the people gathered and the food they share, reflecting an atmosphere of togetherness, friendship and joyful community.
Each menu is packed with mouth-watering, vegetable-forward recipes using fresh and seasonal ingredients: think grilled zucchini halves with ricotta and tarragon; lettuce wraps with squid, papaya, lime, and chili; vegetable chickpea tagine with coconut milk and mint; buttermilk focaccia with wild herbs and mozzarella; Danish risalamande with cherry sauce; apricot cake with mascarpone, lemon and sweet dandelion; or raspberry verbena lemonade.
In addition, each chapter offers practical tips on how and when to shop and prep, including a helpful timeline of what to prepare in advance for a stress-free time with guests when entertaining.
A lively, contemporary cookbook that will inspire home cooks of all skill levels to gather friends and family around the table for a memorable feast.
