Eighteen years and countless print runs since Neil Perry first published his philosophy on cooking, The Food I Love has stood the test of time as one of the most referenced and revered food 'bibles' by professional chefs and home cooks alike.
This is more than just a book of recipes - it's designed for the reader to cook with, learn from and delight in for a lifetime. Neil provides methods, skills and wisdoms that draw from the food of the Mediterranean and have stood the test of time, now revised and refreshed for a new generation of readers.
Including straightforward advice on everything from holding a cook's knife to trussing chicken and filleting fish, along with 200 delicious recipes for every occasion and skill level - from light breakfasts and sandwiches, to an array of seafood, meat and vegetable recipes, and a bounty of timeless desserts. This is home cooking at its very best: simple, seasonal and absolutely delicious.
Neil Perry AM is arguably Australia's most influential restaurateur. His impact on Australian dining both in the restaurant and at home has been indelible - through establishing iconic venues such as Rockpool, Rockpool Bar & Grill, Spice Temple, Rosetta, and Jade Temple as well as his long-running 'Good Weekend' column. Neil has been creating menus for Qantas since 1997, continually redefining their dining and service. Since March 2020 he runs charity Hope Delivery, a much-needed community meal program in Sydney and Melbourne to feed the disadvantaged who have been severely affected by the pandemic. In 2021 he opened a new restaurant Margaret, named after his mother, which showcases many of the dishes contained in his most recent award-winning and bestselling book, Everything I Love to Cook.
