She is the editor of Pediatric Environmental Health, the American Academy of Pediatrics handbook for pediatricians. Sophie J. Balk, MD, FAAP, is a general pediatrician at The Children's Hospital at Montefiore and a professor of pediatrics at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, NY. She is the associate editor of Pediatric Environmental Health.
