A guide for young people on coping with the loss of a loved one. Packed with real-life stories, advice from doctors, counsellors, authors and others, this book will let readers know they are not alone.
Experiencing loss as a teenager or young person can be extremely isolating. Madeleine Davies experienced this herself at the age of twelve years old when her mother died. Over 20 years later, she can still remember the loneliness that surrounded her, which is what prompted her to write this book, Lights for the Path: A Guide Through Grief, Pain and Loss.

Bringing together stories of loss, advice from doctors, counsellors, authors, as well as Madeleine's own experience, this book offers practical tips and incredible comfort to young readers everywhere. Those working with young people will also find this book to be a valuable resource for helping to support teenagers who have experienced a death of a relative or friend.

After reading Lights for the Path, readers will find comfort in knowing that they are not alone and they will find their way.

Madeleine Davies is Deputy News Editor and a reporter and features editor for the Church Times, roles which have seen her interview hundreds of people from Bishops to Colombian human rights defenders to Syrian refugees in camps. She has also contributed to other outlets including Reform, Guardian Online, BBC Radio 4 Sunday and Greenbelt. Madeleine is a trustee for Follow Embrace, a charity partnering with Middle East Christians as they bring hope to all who face poverty and injustice. Previously, she worked for a breast cancer charity, an issue close to her heart as she lost her mother to the disease when she was twelve.
