Madeleine Albright, geboren 1937, war von 1997 bis 2001 unter Präsident Bill Clinton Außenministerin der USA. Seit den siebziger Jahren prägte Albright die amerikanische Innen- und Außenpolitik, etwa als Mitarbeiterin von Jimmy Carter und als Botschafterin bei den Vereinten Nationen. Auch nach dem Ausscheiden aus dem Amt ist Albright weiterhin eine wichtige Stimme der internationalen Politik und gehört zu den beliebtesten Politikern der USA.
