Bernadette Kent began quilting when a friendof hers, Lori Daoust, dropped by with a smallproject designed to keep Bernadette busywhile she was home with her second child.At that time, Bernadette didn’t know what aquilt was!Her three children, Ashley Nicole, Colton Elliotand Taylor Graeme, kept her busy shufflingthem to gym meets, piano lessons, soccergames, and every other event they coulddream up. While she waited for each child,she stitched. As she stitched, her love ofquilting grew. The more she sewed, the bettershe became.In 1999, she opened a small quilt shop calledTraditional Pastimes in Calgary, Alberta.She has been designing quilts, bags andminiatures since 2001.
