However, remnants of recent history are still evident in Cornwall's architecture, its redundant transport systems and its cultural relics.

Joanna Thomas was born in Bristol. Her childhood holidays were spent in Cornwall where she gained a love for the county. Such was the pull to its coastline that she chose to return to study at University College Falmouth for a degree in Journalism and later a Masters in Professional Writing. Having working as a broadcast and print journalist throughout the South West, she has now settled in Cornwall, with her family, where she writes and teaches.
