A wonderful collection of period photography showing Edinburgh buses in the 1960s and 1970s.
In 1928, Edinburgh Corporation Transport was formed as the corporation increasingly began to run buses as well as trams in the city. Edinburgh Corporation Transport continued to run Edinburgh’s buses until 1975, when Lothian Regional Transport was set up. In this book, George Fairbairn, who grew up in Edinburgh in the 1960s and 1970s and who was a keen amateur photographer of the city’s buses, documents the changeover.
This book provides a wonderful colour portrait of Scotland’s capital city and its buses in the 1970s, a period of great change in Britain.
