A clear approach to a specialized science, this study demonstrates that a plants pharmacological properties depends on its botanical classification. Containing more than 30 plants—many of which have not been previously studied for pharmacology purposes—this compilation names and classifies plants within a broad geographical area. Christophe Wiart has been studying the medicinal plants of Southeast Asia for the last 10 years during which time he has classified medicinal uses and pharmacological potentials of hundreds of plants and has made personal plates of these plants. He is the author of Ethnopharmacolgy of Medicinal Plants: Asia and the Pacific, and Medicinal Plants of Asia and the Pacific.
