Oliver Hargreave graduated with a BSc from the London School of Economics, majoring in International Relations. After some years of travel during which he taught in Japan and Thailand, he acquired an MA in Teaching English before working in Saudi Arabia. He returned to Thailand and settled in Chiang Mai in 1990, retiring from teaching professionally to take up photography and writing in 1995. His books include Exploring Chiang Mai: City, Valley & Mountains and Exploring Phuket & Phi Phi: From Tin to Tourism, both published by Odyssey Books & Guides.
