So, they threw in their jobs as TV producers and hit the road on a three month, 30,000 mile romp around North America in search of the heart of their eighties; chasing new memories to replace the old. From the Police Academy building to breakfast with The A-Team's Murdoch to beers with Chunk from The Goonies - they did the lot.They ate omelettes with Louis Gosset Jnr after shaving their heads and spending the night at the Officer and a Gentleman barracks. Learned the art of cunnilingus from Bubba Smith (Hightower in Police Academy), played football against a vampire hunter from The Lost Boys, were taught the Karate Kid 'crane kick' by its creator and faked orgasms in the very seats Harry and Sally lunched in. They saw Rusty from National Lampoon's European Vacation fall arse-over-tit and witnessed Breakfast Club teacher Paul Gleason proclaim the movie as just 'kinda silly'.And in more way than one, Spencer had seen it all before; a Greyhound tour of the USA seven years before haunted him with memories of the estranged love of his life, Elle. This rite of passage journey was to be a total soul cleanse as he realised, finally, that it was over...but not without high drama, tears and sick in Las Vegas.
