Born in Dundee, Robin Gauldie was educated at Edinburgh University, where he studied history. He worked in a museum in Stirling and as a reporter on local newspapers in Carnoustie, Perth and Arbroath before moving to London where he now lives. He is also the author of Walking in Edinburgh, published by New Holland.
