With sections dedicated to each of the appealing facets of Malawi (the Lake, mountains, wildlife, parks, and people), this is a title for those who like to know what to expect when they arrive at their destination. It gives insight into the scenic attractions as well as the community life, and also includes nearly 200 full-colour pictures.
While it poses as a souvenir of a beautiful country, this title is a surprisingly good read. In fact, "Malawi - The Warm Heart of Africa" is an excellent introduction to a country so many dream of visiting. With sections dedicated to each of the appealing facets of the country (the Lake, mountains, wildlife, parks, people, etc), this is a title for those who like to know what to expect when they arrive at their destination. This informative text gives insight into the scenic attractions as well as the community life, while nearly 200 full-colour pictures capture what words simply can not.

Frank Johnston has lived in and photographed Malawi for more than 30 years. His previous book Malawi - Lake of Stars sold almost 10 000 copies. As a consultant to the Department of Tourism, he coined the phrase 'the warm heart of Africa', which has become synonymous with the central African country. The author, Sandy Ferrar, is an independent journalist with a website and an electronic newsletter devoted to Malawi.
