D. Eric Maikranz began his writing career with the Denver Post and later moved to Rome as a correspondent for UPI. Once there, he fell in love with the Eternal City. His passion and interest for Rome flourished and he later accepted a position as an English-language tour guide. Maikranz's short fiction has won awards in the United States and his next novel is to be published in 2005. He splits his time between the United States and Italy.
