With its rugged mountains, clear blue sea, countless islands and old Venetian towns along the coast, Croatia makes an ideal retreat. This guide covers Zagreb and inland Croatia, Istria, Kvarner and Dalmatia including Dubrovnik, and offers advice on watersports, accommodation and culture.
The number of visitors to Croatia continues to increase, drawn by the dramatic landscape of rugged mountains, clear blue sea, countless islands and well-preserved old Venetian towns along the coast. This guide covers Zagreb and inland Croatia, Istria, Kvarner, north, central and south Dalmatia including Dubrovnik. It features sailing the Croatian coast with its isolated bays and numerous islands, and the best beaches, including naturist beaches and watersports centres. As well as coverage of UNESCO-listed Croatian treasures such as Dubrovnik and Split, the handbook also offers information on where to stay, from hotels and pensions to "Robinson Crusoe" accommodation on uninhabited islands and newly restored lighthouse lettings.

Jane has been living in Split for the last 5 years. Prior to this she studied for a degree in Architecture but never got round to practising her profession as travelling in Europe grabbed her attention. Having made it to Croatia and experienced life in this emerging nation, all thoughts of returning to the UK suddenly vanished.
