This magnificent book, in collaboration with the World Wide Fund For Nature Malaysia, profiles all the main parks and key wild areas in Peninsular Malaysia, Sarawak and Sabah. Through an informative and illuminating text, compiled by wildlife and conservation experts, the book reveals the key aspects of each featured area: its geography and landscape, its wildlife and plantlife, its local communities, and its conservation status. Individual colour maps show each area's location in the country and visitor information, on practicalities and on activities such as trekking, birdwatching and diving, is given throughout. Travellers and tourists, nature-watchers and adventurers will all enjoy this evocative celebration of Malaysia's natural heritage.
A team of wildlife and conservation experts from WWF Malaysia, headed by Dr G.W.H. Davison, has collaborated to produce this book. WWF Malaysia, established in 1972, is a registered trust fund concerned with the wise use of all natural resources. Dr Davison, who has worked on its behalf for many years, is also the author of the highly regarded Photographic Guides to the Birds of Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore and the Birds of Borneo, both published by New Holland. Gerald Cubitt is one of the world's leading nature photographers. His many visits to South-east Asia have been recorded in a series of stunning images and among the many books that contain his portrayals of animals, birds, plants, places and people, Wild Malaysia, This is Malaysia and This is Borneo are all published by New Holland.
