This book features 52 beautiful and unique illustrations on Singapore
52 Tales is a collection of 52 unique illustrations on Singapore specially commissioned to celebrate 52 years of nation building. This compilation follows the Singapore narrative and is based on local tales, folklore and idiosyncrasies as interpreted through the perspective of illustrations. Like the many hands that built this city, each illustration is a co-created piece with two artists working together on it. From elaborate illustrations of historical events and visual feasts of favourite dishes, from the story of Hang Nadim to why the Singapore Flyer rotates upstream, each unique drawing gives its own spin on Singapore.

Band of Doodlers (BOD) is Singapore’s largest doodling community, with a stable of over 200 artists and growing. They aim to raise awareness on art through activation, putting the marker in the hand of the individual and allowing the creative within to take over. BOD is especially appealing to youths given the accessibility of the platform used — doodling, BOD strives to bridge the gap between the arts and the community by making art more meaningful through interaction and co-creation.
