Unosuke Miyamoto was born in 1941 in the Asakusa district in Tokyo. After graduated from Meiji University School of Commerce, he took over the family business in 1975 to become the seventh proprietor of the Miyamoto Unosuke Shoten, which sells Mikoshi (a miniature shrine carried in festivals) and Taiko (Japanese drums).
