Richard Sterling is a US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. He is famous for his tales of dining with princes and prostitutes and eating delicacies such as whale meat and bugs, and has been dubbed the "Indiana Jones of Gastronomy" by his his admirers. He is the author of several books including How to Eat Around the World, Travelers' Tales Food and The Adventure of Food, and the principle author of The Adventure of Food. Richard lives in Berkeley, California.
