Digital editions of this map are available for use on mobile phone apps from Viewranger, Memory Map and MyTrails, plus versions for mapping gps units and gps software are available from Mapyx Quo and Memory Map. Thanks to all the walking research and road surveys carried out by Shirley and Mike Whitehead for their new 'Walk! Madeira' and more recently in 2011 the new 'Shirley Whitehead's Madeira Walks' we have been able to comprehensively update our digital database to produce a new 7th Edition. Road building has continued apace with two new main road tunnels opening in October 2011 but the major changes are in the new roads and upgrading of dirt roads to tarmac lanes linking rural comminities comprising hundreds of kilometres of new tarmac. 7Th Edition includes these many and varied new roads plus the hundreds of updates to walking trails and dirt roads surveyed during Shirley and Mike's research. Scale 1:40,000 2.5cms = 1km. Total printed Map area 152 cms by 60 cms. Map size double-sided 84 cm by 60 cm folded to 23.5cm by 12cm.
