Dr. phil. Martha Schad, geboren 1939 in München, studierte an der Universität Augsburg Geschichte und Kunstgeschichte und promovierte mit "Die Frauen des Hauses Fugger von der Lilie". Sie ist als freiberufliche Historikerin und Autorin tätig und schreibt über historische Frauengestalten (Bayerns Königinnen; Frauen, die die Welt bewegten; Kaiserin Elisabeth und ihre Töchter) und gab den Briefwechsel zwischen Cosima Wagner und Ludwig II. von Bayern heraus.
