The wealth and unimpaired seclusion of the Suriname interior, even on comparison with other tropical countries, spectacular. Naturally, the inhabitants and the culture determine the picture of a country and in this aspect too, Suriname has a remarkable wealth. In our present-day world, multicultural societies are a relatively new phenomenon. Suriname, however, formed a multicultural society before the term had been invented.
