Author and photographer Robert I. C. Fisher, a Fodor's staff editor, is a romantic to the core and an Italian at heart. His love affair with the Boot began during his graduate studies in Renaissance art history under Sir John Pope-Hennessy at the Institute of Fine Arts, New York City; it was later fueled by research for a Town & Country profile of a noted 16th-century Roman Palazzo; and it has continued to flourish during his work on several editions of Fodor's Italy guides.
