Janice Anderson was born and educated in New Zealand, where she read English and History at the University of Canterbury. Her father's family come from Ireland and her mother's from Scotland, so it is natural that she should be fascinated by both countries, having visited them many times to discover more about her own ancestry. Most of Janice's working life has been in journalism or publishing, as both editor and writer. Although she has several travel books and social histories of England and Scotland to her credit, this is the first she written on the subject of Ireland.
