'For Cairo is the largest city in Africa and the political and cultural fulcrum of the Arab world. The treasures of three great civilisations await you at the Islamic, Coptic and Egyptian Antiquities museums, while you can immerse your senses at Khan al Khalili, a vast bazaar as intricate as inlay work, sharp with spices, sweet with perfumes and dazzling with brass and gold and silver. You can ride in the desert, sail on the Nile, enjoy belly dancing or opera, smoke a hubbly-bubbly at a street corner cafe, and feed yourself on every cuisine from traditional to nouvelle'.
