Reflects the rules of the Solicitors' Code of Conduct 2007. This book explains the principal rules affecting conveyancing in the context of a transaction and reproduced together with various Law Society's guidance on conveyancing matters.
"The Conveyancing Handbook" has been thoroughly revised to reflect the new rules of the Solicitors' Code of Conduct 2007. The principal rules affecting conveyancing are explained in the context of a transaction and reproduced together with all the Law Society's guidance on conveyancing matters. In addition to new and revised professional rules, conveyancers must also fully grasp the new duties that may arise at the first point of marketing a property. Interlocking regulations apply at this stage creating a maze of transitional arrangements for Home Information Packs and Energy Performance Certificates which now need to be negotiated. The first phase of their introduction has already caused a rising tide of new and amended documents and further shifts in the market for the delivery of services that will concern all conveyancers, and these changes are set to continue until all domestic transactions are affected. The 14th edition contains many of the standard documents used in every transaction which have been revised to accommodate the new regulations, including: CON 29R and CON 29O local enquiries; CON 29DW drainage and water enquiries; Part 1 of the CML Lender's Handbook; and, explanatory notes to the TransAction forms.
It outlines the new HIP and EPC duties whilst retaining at its core the authoritative commentary on each step of a transaction and wealth of practical guidance that have made it the first port of call for practitioners over the past 15 years.
