The legal analysis covers more than 800 cases, and concentrates on general principles of negligence, liability for psychiatric injury, occupiers liability, torts relating to land, defamation, quantum of damage and all other mainstream areas of tort studied on undergraduate and professional courses. The rules of substantive law are set in the context of the Human Rights Act 1998, the Civil Procedure Rules and other institutional and social changes.
