Mit der Festschrift anlässlich des 70. Geburtstags von Jan C. Joerden am 28. April 2022 würdigen die Autorinnen und Autoren den Jubilar für seine herausragenden Leistungen auf dem Gebiet des Strafrechts, der strafrechtlichen Grundlagenforschung, des Medizinstrafrechts und der Rechtsphilosophie. Die Beiträge des Jubilars zeichnen sich durch Liberalität, intellektuelle Offenheit und Scharfsinn aus und werden noch viele Generationen von Juristinnen und Juristen inspirieren. Viele der in dem Band gesammelten Aufsätze beziehen sich auf die Interessensgebiete des Jubilars, widmen sich grundlegenden und aktuellen Fragen der Rechtsphilosophie und Rechtstheorie, des materiellen Strafrechts oder des Rechts der Ethik der Medizin. Zu den behandelten aktuellen Themen gehören etwa Rassismus in der Philosophie, rechtliche Fragen der Sterbehilfe oder des Einsatzes von KI in der Medizin.

Eric Hilgendorf, studied philosophy, religious studies, modern history and law at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen, doctorate in philosophy with a thesis on argumentation theory, doctorate in law on criminal producer liability, habilitation on the distinction between factual statements and value judgments in criminal law. Since 1997 Professor of Criminal Law and related areas at the University of Konstanz, since 2001 Chair of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure Law, Legal Theory, Information Law and Legal Informatics at the Julius-Maximilians-University of Würzburg. Gudrun Hochmayr, studied law at the University of Salzburg, doctorate there with a thesis on criminal law competition theory, Hertha-Firnberg position, habilitation at the University of Salzburg on the subject of »Criminal possession of objects«, since 2009 professor of criminal law, in particular European criminal law and International criminal law at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder). Maciej Ma?olepszy, studied law at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder), doctorate on fines and conditional imprisonment under German and Polish law, habilitation on the German and Polish culture of interpretation and argumentation in criminal law. Since 2009 he has held the chair for Polish criminal law at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder), since 2015 he has been a professor of criminal law at the University of Zielona Góra. Joanna D?ugosz-Jó?wiak, studied law at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) and the Adam Mickiewicz University in Pozna? (Poland), doctorate at the European University Viadrina with a thesis on the Europeanization of criminal law in the field of money laundering , habilitation at the University of Pozna? on the topic »Principles of legality and certainty in criminal law«, since 2019 professor at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Pozna?, since 2021 head of the Chair of Criminal Law at this faculty.
