Dwight Golann is Professor of Law at Suffolk University in Boston and an active mediator of legal disputes. He has led seminars on mediation and mediation advocacy for federal courts, the Justice Department, the ABA, state bar associations, ADR centers around the world, and law firms and corporations. Professor Golann is the author of several books, including Mediating Legal Disputes and How to Share a Mediator’s Powers published by the ABA. Before becoming an academic and neutral, Prof. Golann was an active litigator. He was in private practice, then served as Chief of the Trial Division of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, directing the litigation and settlement of all claims brought against the state, and as a special criminal prosecutor. He has tried and argued cases ranging from local juries to the Supreme Court, and mediated hundreds of cases in a wide variety of subject areas through Resolutions llc of Boston. He brings this legal and mediative experience to his writing about mediation. Professor Golann has been named multiple times to America’s Best Lawyers, and is the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award of the American College of Civil Mediators and an Honorary Member of the International Academy of Mediators.
