Andy Gibson has worked in private legal practice and lectured in business law now for 40 years, first at the (then) Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, then at Griffith University and finally at Southern Cross University where he is now an adjunct Associate Professor there as well as at the Universal Business School Sydney. Andy has co-authored a number of business law texts with Doug Fraser, as well as being sole author of a Sports Law text. He has jointly authored a text on the law of torts and was the founding editor of a sports law loose-leaf publication. Andy was Financial Director of the Australian and New Zealand Sports Law Association (ANZSLA) and is now a life member. He developed a case index on sports law cases in Australia for the ANZSLA, as well as being an editor and reviewer for the ANZSLA peer-reviewed Sports Lay Journal. He also writes occasional articles on various sports law issues that clubs and associations in sport face today for the Sport Australia publication, Play by the Rules, as well as conducting seminars for sporting bodies on legal issues such as governance and disputes. Sarah Osborne has taught for 10 years across business law, accounting and finance at Australian universities, including The Australian National University, The University of Queensland and Bond University. She is currently a Lecturer of Business Law in the School of Accountancy at Queensland University of Technology. Her research focuses on private equity transactions and the complexities of the mergers and acquisitions regulatory environment. In addition, Sarah researches corporate law and government regulation around insider trading and FinTech. She has worked in both the Australian Government and private legal practice, and has a keen interest in a blended-learning student learning experience.
