The text discusses the impact of Board of Appeal decisions on such areas as patentable subject matter, extent of protection, procedural remedies and First Instance procedure. The text is supported by references both to the EPC and Board of Appeal decisions, while appendices include the full text of the EPC and its rules in addition to notices published by the European Patent Office. One chapter looks forward to the next stage of development of the patent system, based upon the Community Patent Convention.
