The European law applicable to contractual obligations was first detected as an independent legal subject matter at the end of the 1990's. It has since established itself as a broad and complex field of research that encompasses pertinent regulations contained in European primary law or based on it. Several perspectives of the European law applicable to contractual obligations are presented in this volume. Emphasis is laid on fundamental horizontal issues as well as questions of application regarding the law of financial services.
