This book covers most aspects of British Immigration Law. The First Edition of this book was bought mainly by Practitioners at all levels of Immigration Practice, including Barristers, Solicitors and Practitioners registered with the OISC. It was also used by those who got registered with the OISC and those passed the LSC/SRA Exams. The First Edition of British Immigration Practice Handbook was released on 01 November 2011. It was completely sold out by 16 June 2012. A decision was made not to reprint but to release the second edition.
Since the First Edition there have been a lot of significant changes to the law: Changes to the Immigration Rules coming into force in October 2012; Changes to the Immigration (European Economic Area) Regulations 2006 effective from 19 July 2012; Changes to Part 8 of the Immigration Rules dealing with family members effective from 09 July 2012; Changes to Part 7 of the Immigration Rules dealing with Long Residence and Domestic Workers; Changes to Tiers 4 and 5 of the Points Based System; Changes to appeal rights for family visitors effective from 09 July 2012 with full rights of appeal for family visitors set to disappear in 2014; Changes to the Maintenance requirements across the Points Based System. Changes to the amount a Tier 2 (General) Migrant would have to be earning to qualify for settlement in 2016 to mention a few. The Second edition takes all of these changes into consideration. This book is aimed at those intending to practice British Immigration Law. It is a practical book. It states the legal requirements, the procedure for applying, the application forms and documents required for most Immigration and Nationality Applications.

Mr O Richards has been a consultant on Immigration Law with various firms of solicitors. He is a consumate teacher. He has trained Solicitors, Baristers and Practitioners registered at all levels with the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner. He has also trained people who have gone on to pass the Solicitors Regulatory Authority / Legal Services Commision Immigration and Asylum Accreditation Scheme Examinations at all Levels.
