Although dance is one of the world's oldest art forms, choreography was first included in the laws of Germany, France and the USA as a separate category of copyrightable works during the course of the 20th century. This work places special emphasis on the following questions: which concepts can be protected as a work of choreography and how is the original work of authorship determined? Targeted towards attorneys concerned with questions related to choreography, this work can also serve as a reference for representatives of the dance community as an introduction to the copyright issues relevant to their work. Obwohl Tanz zu den ältesten Kunstformen der Welt gehört, wurde die Choreografie erst im Lauf des 20. Jahrhunderts als eigene Kategorie urheberrechtlich geschützter Werke in Deutschland, Frankreich und den USA in die jeweiligen Gesetze aufgenommen. Einen besonderen Schwerpunkt in dieser Arbeit bilden die Fragen, welche Schöpfungen für den Schutz als choreografisches Werk in Betracht kommen und wie sich die Urheberschaft ihrer Schöpfer darstellt. Sie wendet sich an Juristen, die mit urheberrechtlichen Fragen choreografischer Werke befasst sind, und kann auch von Vertretern der Tanzszene genutzt werden und führt in die für sie relevanten urheberrechtlichen Fragen ein.
