Provides a treatment of the main principles of the subject of land law with a selective presentation of key topics, described and analyzed at an appropriate level for undergraduate study. Included is a chapter on applying knowledge to solve examination problems.
Land Law provides a clear, lively and very approachable treatment of the main principles of the subject, with an in-depth coverage of key topics, described and analysed at an appropriate depth for undergraduates. The book has a number of features to make it attractive to students, in particular the chapter on applying knowledge to solve examination problems and the helpful glossary of land law terminology. The fourth edition has been radically restructred to fit in with the form of the majority of undergraduate and land law courses. The author now discusses in turn each of the estates and interests in land, and how they can be aquired, held, protected and lost. However, the original virtue of the previous editions remains in the pratical and down-to-earth explanation of a subject that students often find abstract and difficult. The book gives an up-to-date account of recent case law and legislative developments. Reform is also considered, most importantly the reform of land registration heralded by the Law Commision Consultation Paper and on Land Registration in the Twenty-First Century. The wide-ranging implications of this are considered throughout the book.
